ERAS Symposium 2007 @SP, 16 Mar 07 (Friday)

We were informed of this last week, so worried abt this n finally this day came n it was over! ya of course, the audiences had to bear wif my powDerful englAnd :p
(not going to talk abt e organization...)

The best reward i got from this symposium was i met my ex-stu! Kent Tan is now an SP student, he was one of my Sec 2 Norm Acad kids years ago while i was at JV Sec Sch. He found mi familiar too, n hence asked mi, hahaha, so i told him YES! it is really great to see ur ex-stu grown up n matured, carried himself wif confidence, n he is progressing well!

Also, i found the Keynote addresses interesting n very enriching. These addresses were much meaningful than those concurrent sessions (incl ours).

  • We need to hav greater tolerance for uncertainties
  • Wise men learn from experience, e wiser men learn from experience of others
  • We dun plan but invent our future (shared to e speaker by Oracle, Sillicon Valley, n i realli like it)
  • WITs, Work Improvement Team for some but Waste Important Time for most. (thats y for us, WITs had evolved into Action Research)
  • Ppl give u problem, tt helps u think further n be more creative, while u r trying to solve it. Wen scientists were asked to send men to the moon, tis was a big headache task n big problem, but thats also why today we hav Satellite Communications. I will try to be more open n receptive to problems from now on, n i hope i can keep this in mind.
Joke Time:
  • 2 hardware engineers n 2 software engineers were taking a train to attend a mission. e hardware engineers bought 2 tix but software engineers bought onli one. hardware engineers told e software engineers that they would be in trouble if inspector came. Software engineers smiled.
  • Short while later, an inspector boarded on the train. e Software engineers quickly run to e washroom. Inspector knocked at e washroom door n said:"ticket pls." One tix was slipped out from e bottom of e door n the inspector checked n left.
  • While taking train back, hardware engineers learnt n bought 1 tix. but tis time, e software engineers didnt buy a single tix. Hardware engineers were again in puzzled.
  • Inspector came, hardware engineers immd rush to e washroom n closed e door. one of e software engineer slowly walked to e washroom door n said:"ticket pls." One tix was slipped out from e bottom of e door. ;)
Q for e day: When was e last time u tried sth for e first time?
Life for e future: Second Life (secondlife.com)
More about us: We r well trained to be self discipline, as compare to other presenters. We reported puntually n we kept our presentation within duration given. ;p
Last but not least: Thanks SChong for giving mi sweets, it helps to calm mi down:)
